Low Vision

What is low vision?
Anyone with non-correctable reduced vision is considered to be visually impaired. The severity of Low Vision can range from moderate to profound low vision. In general, for every blind person there are three who have low vision.

What are the causes of low vision?
Low vision varies with each individual, and may result from birth defects, injury, ageing, complication from disease, or untreated glaucoma or trachoma.

What cures low vision?
There is no cure for low vision. However, low vision therapy can greatly improve the ability to make use of the residual vision. The CCBRT low vision department assesses the patient's visual status and maximizes the visual ability of patients through glasses and magnifying devices. In addition, mobility and orientation training greatly improves the ability of people with low vision to move independently in their immediate environment.
